Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using barbadosbusinessdirectory.com (the “Site”), operated by Barbados Business Directory (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Site, creating an account, or submitting a business listing, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About the Site
Barbados Business Directory is an online directory that allows users to search for local professional services across Barbados by parish and category, and allows businesses to list their services on the Site.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or submit a business listing. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account or submitting a listing.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these Terms, or are used for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
4. Business Listings
- Businesses submitting listings (“Listing Owners”) are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information they submit, including business name, contact details, location, category, description, and images.
- We may review, edit, decline, or remove listings at our discretion, including listings that are inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent, offensive, or that violate these Terms.
- Listings marked as “verified” have been reviewed by our team for basic accuracy, but this does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of the quality, reliability, or legitimacy of any business.
- We do not guarantee the continued availability, ranking, or placement of any listing on the Site.
- We reserve the right to charge fees for certain listing features (e.g., featured or promoted listings), where applicable. Any such fees will be clearly disclosed before purchase.
5. User Conduct
When using the Site, you agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content
- Impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation with a business
- Upload content that infringes the intellectual property or other rights of any third party
- Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, other users’ accounts, or our systems
- Use automated means (e.g., bots, scrapers) to access or collect data from the Site without our prior written consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site
We reserve the right to remove content or suspend/terminate access for any user who violates these rules.
6. Third-Party Businesses and Services
The Site is a directory only. We do not provide, control, employ, or guarantee the services offered by any business listed on the Site. Any transaction, communication, or agreement you enter into with a listed business is solely between you and that business. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, any dispute, damage, loss, or issue arising from your use of a listed business’s services.
We encourage you to independently verify the credentials, licensing, and reputation of any business before engaging their services.
7. Intellectual Property
- The Site’s design, layout, logos, graphics, and original content (excluding user- and business-submitted content) are owned by or licensed to Barbados Business Directory and are protected by intellectual property laws.
- By submitting content (such as listing descriptions, images, or reviews), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Site and in related promotional materials.
- You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit any content you upload and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.
8. Reviews and User-Generated Content
If the Site allows reviews, ratings, or comments, you agree that any content you submit will be truthful, based on genuine experience, and will not be defamatory, abusive, or otherwise violate these Terms. We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content at our discretion.
9. Advertising
The Site may display advertisements, including through Google AdSense and other third-party advertising networks. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or for any products or services advertised.
10. Disclaimers
- The Site and all listings are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that listing information is accurate, complete, or up to date.
- We do not endorse, and are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or reliability of, any business or service listed on the Site.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Barbados Business Directory and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any listed business’s services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount, if any, you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Barbados Business Directory and its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Site, other users, or third parties.
14. Changes to the Site and These Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site (or any part of it) at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Barbados, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barbados.
